Been revitalising the Friar's Tuck Myspace to get the word out to the masses, so check it out and listen to some new tunes.
While you're there, why not have a gander at the underground record label that my friend and I are currently in the process of creating: Tegg By 2 Recordings

Audio Smile is here!
As of today, Friar's Tuck releases its debut album Audio Smile. We are over the moon. Get one here for the actual CD (only £5.75 + p&p) or here for the media download version - same great tracks, no p&p (only £2.50). Trust us, you won't be disappointed.

Crinkle Cut
After at least two years of wondering what to do with a riff and a melody created by my brother and I, Nick and I decided to create something with it. The result is up on the music page now. Check it out.
-Doran.
Kiss my sleepy head
Ack, stop me - I've made so many tunes recently (another new one up). But I guess that's a good thing... work can wait.
-Doran.
When I should be working
Nick and I decided that the ending of Flow-wo was just too damn weird to leave at that, so I started where it left off - and the results can be found on the Music page now.
-Doran.
Well that was quick
Another one?! Yes indeedy - this one's been brewing for a while now, so Nick and I took it upon ourselves to actually finish it - in one night!
It's up, go have a listen and chill out.
-Doran.
Frightened Rabbit Lost at Sea
The name says it all folks, a new tune is up and running, ready to delight your ears. Hats off to our special guest Miki who provided an awesome snippet for the tune \o/
What are you waiting for? The rabbit awaits!
-Nick.
It's up!
-Doran.
Hats off 2006
What better way to wave goodbye to 2006 and beckon in the new, wetter year of 2007 than with a brand new piece from Friar's Tuck.
This is our way of saying Happy New Year, so go over and check it out on the Music page.
-Doran.
Fun Fun PianoDrum
I was meant to go to a party on Thursday, but instead I stayed home and started a tune. It's funky and clunky, so check back soon for an update.
-Doran.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Today folks we, and many others across the world, celebrate that special day of the year. That's right, this was the day that Jesus was born, and with him the power of funk and jazz! Sing your merry songs, eat your over-cooked turkeys, read your not-so-hilarious cracker jokes and just have a razz of a time!
And at that note, we wish you a very happy, merry and jolly christmas!
-Friar's Tuck.
Man-Trumpet
New tune nearly complete! And I bloody well love it!
I can't stop listening to it - it's making me happy. Hopefully finished tomorrow or the day after - and ready to be heard by the world.
-Doran.
Aye true, after many furious attempts to create that right beat for the song we've done it, you'll love this jazz people!
-Nick.
UPDATE
It's up folks! Head on over to the music section and indulge yourself on yet another Friar's Tuck piece!
Who put jam in the cogs
Busy busy busy. That's what our devilish school work has reduced us to. No time for fun and games, so they say, and yet the time flies like nobody's business. Damn that beneficial education system.
Well last night Doran and I poured our little hearts into springing off a new tune, and spring it did like a slinky. The only trouble is, the slinky reached the bottom of the stairs and we didn't know how to get it back to the top. We were so chuffed with the start and now we havn't the faintest idea - that just takes the cake.
Hopefully in due time the tune will flourish!
-Nick.
We all have to do it
I'm pleading. It's a horrible, terrible thing to have to do, but I'm doing it, because I'm devoted to the cause. I'm pleading because I want you, our loving fans, to help us spread the word of Friar's Tuck. Bookmark us, link to us, tell your friends, your children, your eager record label executives. I don't know. Take that little sign at the top of the page and smack it on your website.
Wait, where are you going? Come back!
Be part of the team. Friar's Tuck needs you!
-Doran.
TRAPPED IN A...
...SINISTER CITY OF MONSTERS
To add some relevance to this post, I'll let you know that we've decided to submit our favourite FT picture into a geography photo competition. Can you guess which one it is?
And yes, expect a wintery tune from us, folks.
-Nick.
Snow use bothering
Here's my last few days:
- went to Wales
- caught some sort of flu
- came home, sniffling and with an aching neck.
But as you know, I'm a determined sort of geezer, and although I haven't had the opportunity to bring you something brand spanking new, I found an old tune that my brother and I made, which I thought was appropriate for this time of year. It's called Winter, and you can find it in the Music section.
Go, my little elves, go.
-Doran.
We're back, I'll grant you that
*tweaks a nob*
*moves a slider*
It's here! The (too) long awaited Underants/Underpants. Rejoice, for Friar's Tuck have truly removed the spanner from their arid works and breathed life into the floundering flame of bedroom-made music. Hello and welcome back. The FT Airship sets sail for a new horizon!
With all-new melodrama.
-Doran.
You may now throw your hats.
-Nick.
Where the hell is Friar's Tuck
Yeah right, like you were wondering that. We've been busy and all over the past couple of months with random jazz and funky-doings, but fear no more! Friar's Tuck is back, and we've got back into the beat, working on Underants/Underpants (which I might add, is going pretty smoothly). So save the merry throwing of your hats for later, and look forward to another Friar's Tuck tune!
In other news, y'all should pay attention to this.
-Nick.
Around the year in 365 days
A long long time ago to this very day, the two merry men that formed Friar's Tuck, did indeed form Friar's Tuck.
That's right folks, FT now celebrates a whole year of tunes, beats and plain jazzy feats. What better way to say this than a snazzy new tune? Head on over to the music page folks - you'll be pleasantly (or horrifically) surprised.
-Friar's Tuck.
World Cup and Friar's Tuck
World Tuck.
Our holidays have started, so let the juices of merry run free, and let acoustic and electronic mix! Enter the era of a new, more chilled, more jazzy Friar's Tuck.
We welcome you with open arms.
-Friar's Tuck.
Last one out
The old FT cogs, rusted by a long dose of school, are finally starting to turn again. With the end almost here, we can now resume work on the unfinished business we have. If only. While the prom last friday supposedly celebrated the end of school for our year, a select few of us revelled in the horror of realisation that we still had an exam, way to go.
With that aside, our Friar's Tuck friend is hoping to get yet another tune broadcasted on the radio. A prime example of what the rest of you should be doing of course.
It's all so very, very close.
-Nick.
No News is New News Old New
Exams are nearly over, so the time for music is nearly upon us.
As of next Monday, Nick and I will be free from large halls and sky-blue desks, and school-life as a whole. Over this Summer Friar's Tuck will be seriously grinding the compressors and hitting the MIDI keyboard, squeezing every last second out of a too-short holiday.
To start the ball rolling, I changed the drums on Soft, and remastered Woodlands (again). Get over to the Music page and listen in. And by the way, sorry for all the regurgitation of old stuff. It has to be done, and new stuff will be on the way shortly.
-Doran.
Might I also add that Friar's Tuck recently upgraded its software to Fruity Loops Studio 6, with more functions and jazz than ever. Hopefully this will bode well for our future shenanigans.
-Nick.
Spiderweb
Just a small update pointing out our little banner on the right there. Yes, now you can spread the love of Friar's Tuck on your website, forum, or just print it out to be cool. Just remember to have it link to our site \o/
Keep spreading the Friar's Tuck love, people.
-Nick.
Long distance calls
Earlier, around 6:00pm, a true Friar's Tuck brother (Katamari) had a certain friend's mother broadcast Member from a local radiostation (97.5, WALK). This radiostation, situated in Long Island is apparently one of the most popular stations in New York.
While of course we're probably still completely unknown, they say that any publicity is good publicity. So with that, hopefully we'll slowly spread from the west (which ironically, is across the ocean from us).
Remember kids, if you know anyone that works for a radiostation, get them to whack on some Tuck tunes!
-Nick.
Seconded.
-Doran.
Pulling out my hair
Just a quick update. Recently, my brother and I have been trying different bits of music software, as my brother got fed up with Fruity Loops.
Oh how we were wrong. Other pieced of software are just... not nice. Jay assures me that, given the time and practice, we'll come on leaps and bounds. I, however, take a realist view: how are we going to get anywhere if we can't even record the drums to the sequencer?
Final note: I've hidden a shrine to Dylan on the site, which will contain an ever growing amount of recordings. Find it if you can.
-Doran.
Pressing the right buttons
Last night Katamari forced me to work on Harem of Voices, and I did. But before I could show him the product, he disappeared. So, I'm about to upload a remastered version of Harem of Voices, complete with new drums and enhanced coolness.
Quite.
-Doran.
I was sitting...
...in my huge leather armchair, watching telly ... and thinking how marvellous it would be to be a were-wolf. How fantastic and different my life would be; to go beyond human.
To be a man dog, a hairy person. Look at me! I am teeth, I am fur, I am dribble! I am the wolfman!.. HOMO WOLFUS! My rocket is made from pure carbon and smashes through planets! I AM THE WOLF MAN! I hate being bored, and I can punch suns!
I AM THE WOLFMAN; a huge rancid dog travelling at 5000 miles per hour! Wolf person! Dog boy! I AM THE UNIVERSE! I AM THE BRILLIANT DOG! I AM IT!
-Nick.
Slowly, slowly
As the title says, things are going slowly around here. Exam shizzle and whatnot, so its hard for us to do work on FT. However, when the summer holidays finally begin, we'll spring back to life! In the meantime, we have a few small sampled tunes prepared for us to work on, as you can see in the music section.
I've also got the blog section up under 'Our Life' for all you internet stalkers out there :D
-Nick.
Remix
It's really an update, how scary. I, being Doran, have decided to completely go over everything you listen to on this site, above and beyond the call of duty. With exams under way, it will be hard for Nick and I to find time for Friar's Tuck, but whenever I get the offchance, I'll certainly try my best to supply the world with goodness.
And to get the ball rolling, I've remastered Spacey and completely redone the awful drums on Woodlands, although it's still in the prototype stage. Go have a listen after I upload them.
-Doran.
Move it!
That's right! Friar's Tuck have officially hit the groove. Get your glow sticks, compadres, tonight we're gonna rave!
-Doran.
Gurgle Grunt
Argghhh! Updateless! Well, here's one for your slavering jaws: just remastered Woodlands, and I'm just about to upload it, so go have another listen.
Right - in all seriousness, we should be getting some shiz down in the coming week (after Easter) so please please PLEASE keep checking. We really do appreciate it.
-Doran.
Loose screws
Again, I apologise for the lack of updates in these recent weeks. We've found it hard to divide our time between Friar's Tuck, school and playing Oblivion. However, I do plan to perhaps whack on some new blog page; now you can follow our lives like stalkers! Also, with the coming Easter holidays, we'll hopefully have the time to do a couple more FT tunes (unless our time is taken up by revising for exams, which I doubt somewhat). In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for the new blog section, which in due time I will name as 'Our Life'.
-Nick.
New Old
That new tune's up for the public's sensitive ears to hear, so go have a quick listen. Also, I just uploaded a tune that I recorded what seems like an age ago - I found it hiding in the Friar's Tuck folder, pretending to be invisible. Not sure if I like it, but it's up all the same.
-Doran.
Gold nuggets
Another round for Friar's Tuck! Business is booming in the studio/bed room, we're currently working on what one might call a tune. Seriously, you'll love this stuff. Who would've thought you could make a brilliant tune out of drunken Irish (No offense to the already over-stereotyped Irish) pub dwellers ? Well, check it out for yourself, you might find yourself on the floor laughing - in pain, or just searching for a pen lid.
-All the gang at FT.
MIA
I know you've probably not been missing us. As usual we've been anchored by school and other shenanigans, but as dormant as we might seem, the cogs of Friar's Tuck have been secretly turning. Slightly. While it's unfortunate that the weekend ahead is scheduled for mostly non-friar business, I am in fact in the process of designing an album cover just for the sake of things. I already have a pretty good idea of what the end product will be, so now we've just the album name to think of.
If you have suggestions, or just love us, drop a message on the ol' Preacher.
-Nick.
We're not dead, honest
Just like the heading says, we're not actually dead (yet). Sorry for the lack of updates, we've been kept busy by school, and more importantly, the flu. However, the time for rejoicing starts now, because it's going to be one hell of a Friar's Tuck packed half term week holiday, filled with tunes and tomato juice all around! Now that we've actually got round to starting the new tune, you can expect something from us pretty soon.
-Nick.
Good morning
Its saturday evening here in the Friar's Tuck studio, and we've been contemplating a new tune. As mentioned previously it might be a 'morning tune', so kudos to that. Hell, maybe we'll come up with an album name and cover just for the sake of it. But until then, stay tuned!
-Nick.
New dawn
The January sales are still going. The best and worst time for birthdays: best for the people buying presents, worst for the unlucky soul whose birthday it is. And it's my brother's in three day's time.
I'm not going to say what I got him in case he comes on and reads it - I hope you like it Jay!
Nick and I were discussing making a "morning" tune. Nick says Everything in its right place is the perfect morning tune. Watch out for an update on that, although it may be slightly Royksopp Melody A.M.-ish
-Doran.
Eyes glazed
It's a dreamy start to 2006 for Friar's Tuck - both with the new host, and the new tune. I'm uploading it as we speak, and I'm as chuffed as can be.
Get over to our music page and have a gander.
-Doran.
Spacey
Another talk between Nick, Raj and I led Friar's Tuck down a path of inspiration. The topic was Time Travel, and the possibility of travelling faster than Time itself.
This tune is now very much a work in progress, so keep your ears open, and your browsers refreshed.
-Doran.
Of course, it seems that a lot of songs we do are based around mysterious conversations. Well, not Conversation Lull, despite its name..
Anyway, this tune looks like its taking a turn into wealth and fame (yeah right), 'cause we like it. We'd put a preview, but instead we'll just let you wallow in curiosity.
-Nick.
Creation
After an engaging chat with Nick and Raj about how Noah's Ark is completely implausible, and how everything evolving from the sea makes sense, I quickly went home and worked on a tune which has nothing to do with Noah's Ark or the aqua-evolution of land-based animals.
It's called Member, so get over to the music page and have a listen. It's only a shortie - enjoy.
-Doran.
Noah's Ark indeed, those crazy animals. Anyway, I've whacked some lyrics on the site now, as you can see to the left. Finally those who seem to love Harem of Voices can now truly understand its... Wrongness.
-Nick.
Preach me a Flipper
We're sorting out some stuff for a kind of shout box deal, so watch out for that... I suppose it'll show us that we actually don't get any hits. No, think optimistic.
-Doran.
Update: the Preacher is up and running on the right, thanks to Dave Smith, so tell us your thoughts!
Rolling on
Cogs are turning here at the Friar's Tuck website! Progress has been, well, progressing pretty fast. As you can see, we've already got the ol' Friar's Tuck tunes up and running on the left, and you can even amuse yourself with a slice of history on our side. Once the major parts are done, we'll be able to get our heads down and ring up some tunes once more, so keep your eyes peeled for updates. Again, many thanks to Shawna for this snazzy opportunity!
-Nick.
We're Monopolising
Hurray! A huge thanks to our great new host Shawna (www.eruantale.net) for letting us squat here. It feels great to be out of the vile clutches of free web hosting, so we hope all goes well.
Shawna has also been kind enough to do some coding and web design for us (exhibit A to the left), which we greatly appreciate. So overall, lots of Friar's Tuck love to www.eruantale.net.
One more thing, if you have the urge to read our previous news entries, all the way back to July of last year when we got the ball rolling, please visit our freewebs site by clicking here. Due to a lack of patience on my part, these entries will not be joining us in our new home. Farewell lovely memories!
-Doran.
